One of the key issues faced by transport providers is in accessing or providing Real Time Information data feeds. There are a range of complexities in creating the data feed and combining this with static time tabling to provide predictive informational updates.
Infomatixs has created X-Tag and X-Time to simplistically solve this problem.
X-Tag uses vehicle mounted RF transmitters to communicate vehicle arrival times and identities. Such RF signals are received by RF Receivers housed in X-Series screen technology at vehicle stops and interchanges. Captured data is sent to the infomatixs centralised X-Time server which combines the latest bus arrival data with static timetable information. Updated vehicle arrival times are then re-transmitted via GPRS to X-Series screens located at vehicle stops and interchange points within the transport network.
X-Time is a centralised online server that communicates with X-Series screens. X-Time processes RF data captures from moving vehicles and resends the information to screens and devices on the transport network.
